What We Do - Strategic Aim 3
To map and promote the capacity and contribution of the voluntary and community health sector and the added value which it brings to health improvement and health care.
- VHS has set up a database that provides information on the capacity, size, function and diversity of a significant section of the voluntary and community health sector in Scotland. This will enable VHS to begin to measure the impact of the voluntary and community sector contribution to health improvement and health care in Scotland.
- We are working in partnership with SCVO to align our separate databases in order to build up the health sector profile of the Scottish Voluntary Sector Almanac.
- VHS networks extensively with other Scottish intermediary bodies and voluntary and statutory bodies and networks, for example SCVO, the Scottish Consumer Council, CHEX, The Convention of Scottish Local Authorities, Communities Scotland and others as appropriate.
- We constantly promote the voice of the voluntary and community health sector through national and local media - with coverage in The Herald, Holyrood Magazine and on BBC Radio Scotland.
