£240 million Change Fund yet research shows third sector engagement needs improved

Increasing demands are being made on third sector organisations through Single Outcome Agreements and partnership working in key topic areas such as Re-shaping Care for Older People. With £70 million being invested in the re-shaping care programme alone this year it is becoming ever more important that all third sector organisations have a clearly defined strategy for engaging with and influencing statutory organisations.

With this in mind, Voluntary Health Scotland is continuing its highly successful series of Invest to Engage seminars which support individuals and organisations to develop effective engagement strategies.

Working in partnership once more with Brian Cavanagh, a previous Chairman of NHS Lothian and City of Edinburgh Councillor, we have updated the seminar content and taken into account possible policy changes resulting from the SNP gaining the first ever working majority of any political party at the Scottish Parliament Elections.

As a further development, Brian will now be able to offer a free personal telephone consultation during the month following the seminar, which will help to consolidate learning and give direct support for applying it in the workplace.
