September 9 Ageing with an intellectual disability: perspectives of service users and staffIncreased life expectancy and the baby boom generation have led to a growing number of ageing people with intellectual disability. Most developed countries regard people with intellectual disability as citizens with equal rights. By implication, older people with intellectual disability should expect the same support for a healthy and active old age as the general community.

This seminar will consider the success with which disability support systems have adapted to ensure the best possible quality of life for people with intellectual disability as they age.
