May 31 Hansel and Gretel - stuck in the forestIn this workshop participants will use drawing and some writing. Participants will explore two metaphors found in the fairy tale of Hansel and Gretel.

The first is the idea of abandonment and feeling stuck. The workshop will look at how children express hopelessness and how the therapist accompanies a child at this point in their therapy.

The second theme is about the idea of home and safety and the contradictions that are expressed by children on this subject. This workshop was presented in a slightly different format at the World Congress for Play and Child Pyschotherapy (Chichester 2004).
