Consultations

Voluntary Health Scotland promotes the distinctive voice of the voluntary health sector by facilitating consultation on Scottish Government and related policy and service proposals. We welcome members' views on the latest consultation and will collate a collective response which is put forward to the policy makers. Your views are important to ensure that the voluntary sector can influence change.

Deadline for responses is 29th February 2012 The purpose, criteria and priorities for all of these funding streams require re-examination and, given the close alignment with some organisations funded through both the UVSF and CLD HQ funds, it was decided to examine the future of the funds through the same consultation process.

OSCR Public Focus Strategy consultation. Deadline for responses is 23rd December 2011 Responding to new requirements under the Public Services Reform (Scotland) Act 2010 (2010 Act), this strategy aims to develop and improve on how OSCR involve users in their scrutiny functions. Users of charity services include:
  • beneficiaries and potential beneficiaries of charities
  • charities, whether they are beneficiaries or potential beneficiaries of other charities
The strategy builds on OSCR's existing work and includes the following proposals:
  • more public-facing communications, building on their research that showed public awareness of charity regulation encouraged trust and confidence in the sector
  • stronger relationships with representative bodies. OSCR are seeking the views of charities, local authorities and umbrella bodies on ways to engage those who use charity services
  • new methods of gathering feedback
