Funding SourceDescription
The Baring FoundationSpecific grants programmes concerned with strengthening the voluntary sector, the arts and international development.
The Esmée Fairbairn FoundationThe Esmée Fairbairn Foundation make grants to organisations which aim to improve the quality of life for people and communities in the UK, both now and in the future.
The HBOS FoundationThe HBOS Foundation Community Action Programme provides local grants of up to £10,000 to support a diverse range of projects - from funding equipment at a special needs school to supporting a debt advice service in an economically deprived area.
The Hedley FoundationThe Hedley Foundation aims to support young people, the disabled and the terminally ill. The main objective of the Trustees grant making is to assist and encourage development and change.

Most grants will be of capital or one-off nature, but the Trustees sometimes agree to help fund the introduction of new and innovative projects with a series of up to 3 annual grants. Few grants exceed £5,000 and most of them go to charities where they can make an impact.
The Henry Smith CharityThe Trustees of The Henry Smith Charity use the following programme areas to classify their grants:
The Joseph Rowntree Charitable TrustThe JRCT makes grants to individuals and to projects seeking the creation of a peaceful world, political equality and social justice.
The King's Fund: GSK IMPACT AwadsGSK’s IMPACT Awards are designed to recognise and reward charities that are doing excellent work to improve people’s health.
  • Organisations must be at least three years old, working in a health related field in the UK, with a total annual income between £10,000 and £1 million
  • Up to 20 awards will be made with ten winners receiving £25,000 and highly commended and runner up organisations receiving £5,000 and £3,000 respectively
  • Organisations that win or are highly commended for an award will also be offered free training valued at £3,500
The Lord's TavernersThe Lord’s Taverners mission is to give young people, particularly those with special needs, a sporting chance. They achieve this by providing opportunities for young people, able bodied or with disabilities, under the age of 25 to participate in sport & recreation. Over the last 50 years they have given over £36m away to schools, sports clubs & special needs organisations.
The Nationwide FoundationThe grants programmes are designed to help people in need and importantly, to help break the drivers of social exclusion by offering support to those who are on its margins.
The Pfizer UK FoundationThe Pfizer UK Foundation was established in 2005 to address health inequalities across the UK arising from social, economic, cultural and demographic factors. It supports community based projects that tackle health inequalities in England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales, which fall outside core NHS statutory funding. The aim is to support projects providing tailored, innovative, modest and local solutions to needs defined by local healthcare and social care experts, community groups and charities.
