This one-day training is available to anyone working with men with long term conditions and self management.

The purpose of the training is to raise awareness and increase understanding of the impact that gender and masculinity can have on self management of long term conditions.

The outcomes for the training participants are:
  • At the end of the training, participants will have improved knowledge of how Men’s Health Forum Scotland can support their organisation
  • Participants will also have improved knowledge of gender and masculinity and where ideas of gender and masculinity come from
  • Participants will have improved understanding of the barriers to effective self management created by gender and masculinity and the particular issues men face
  • Participants will also be more aware of the practical steps they can take based on what other organisations have done to make sure their services meet the needs of men
