Although recognising both are important and complementary, it focuses on a "population approach" (i.e. reducing risk in whole populations) as opposed to a high-risk approach (i.e. reducing risk in individuals at high risk of CVD). It charts the progress to date in Scotland in preventing CVD and improving its risk factors, documenting a range of positive policies and actions throughout the country. |

The legislation also introduces new responsibilities for charity trustees, including the requirement to provide information to OSCR and seek OSCR's consent in certain circumstances. |
