January 2006: VHS Smoke-Free Scotland: Policy BriefingThis report highlights the key points of the legislation banning smoking in public places and includes a description of the offences and the associated penalties, what is required to comply with the regulations and a complete list of the no-smoking premises and exemptions detailed in the Act.

The likely impact on the voluntary and community sector is considered and additional good practice is outlined.
November 2005: Towards voluntary and community sector engagement in Community Health Partnerships - a baseline mapping exerciseThe Community Health Partnerships Regulations (Scotland) 2004 came into force on 1 October 2004 with the intention that Community Health Partnerships (CHPs) would be "live" by 1st of April 2005. Advice NoteThis paper offers guidance on the contribution that the voluntary sector can bring to the work of Community Health Partnerships (CHPs). It is set within the context of national policy and identifies possible ways to involve the sector as partners. This should help CHPs to develop strong partnerships with the voluntary sector that are focused on improving health and addressing the health and social care needs of the local population.

Voluntary Health Scotland's paper of July 2003 entitled "What does a Community Health Partnership mean for the voluntary sector?1" identified a number of expectations for Community Health Partnerships (CHPs).
