Membership

The strength of Voluntary Health Scotland resides in its membership.

Voluntary Health Scotland is Scotland’s national intermediary body for voluntary health organisations. Committed to encouraging strategic partnerships between the sector and health services at all levels, VHS supports organisations to contribute effectively to Scotland’s health agenda and to enable individuals and communities to influence health policy development.

Joining Voluntary Health Scotland

VHS is a membership organisation. Across Scotland, members range from large national organisations to small community groups, non-voluntary bodies and individuals.

Full membership is open to:

• Any voluntary organisation concerned with the improvement of health which is an incorporated body.
• Any individual nominated by a voluntary sector organisation concerned with the improvement of health which is an unincorporated body.

Full membership offers:

• Free regular e-news bulletins
• Discounted rates at VHS seminars and events
• Access to on-line library of publications and research past and present from the Scottish Government, the Scottish Parliament, NHS Scotland, VHS and the wider voluntary sector
• Participation in VHS-led working groups on emerging health policy and participation in surveys
• Quarterly Briefings mailed directly to members, analysing Scottish Government and NHS Scotland policies, with member contributions
• The chance to shape the VHS agenda through full voting rights and election to the VHS Board of Directors
• Latest health-related news items from a broad range of reliable on-line media sources
• Opportunities for showcasing and promoting member organisations' achievements on the VHS website
• Access to consultation opportunities
• Access to on-line events diary, featuring forthcoming conferences, workshops and seminars
• Targeted information from VHS and voluntary organisations on sector-wide issues
• Use of on-line notice-board for sector job opportunities and activities

Associate membership is open to:

• Any voluntary organisation, whether incorporated or not, or an individual (including students) wishing to support the aims and activities of VHS
• Any non-voluntary organisation, statutory or professional body wishing to support the aims and activities of VHS

Associate members enjoy access to all full membership benefits except voting rights, VHS Board membership and discounted rates at events.

Annual fee

Full membership
Annual turnover of up to £100k: £10
Annual turnover of up to £250k: £30
Annual turnover of more than £250k: £50

Associate member
(any individual or voluntary organisation, whether incorporated or not, who wishes to support the aims and activities of VHS): No fee

Associate member
(any non-voluntary organisation, statutory body, or professional organisation who wishes to support the aims and activities of VHS): £75
