The strength of Voluntary Health Scotland resides in its membership.

Any independent non-profit distributing organisation whose purpose is to improve health and health care in Scotland may join. Our members are active in a wide range of activities: promoting health in communities; tackling health inequalities; supporting people affected by illness or disability; contributing to policy development.

Members pay an annual subscription fee, currently £20 per annum, for which they receive:

  • Regular members’ Briefings and e-news bulletins which VHS provides on progress at the Scottish Executive Health Department and the NHS and offering space for members' own articles and news of events of interest

  • An improved interactive VHS website: www.vhscotland.org.uk - which has the capacity to reach a wide audience and encourage views on a range of health issues

  • Opportunities to participate in consultation on emerging policy, working groups and forthcoming events

  • The opportunity to showcase successful pratice and new initiatives

  • Discounted rates at VHS seminars & events

  • Opportunities for the exchange of best practice within the sector
